Heidi Matheys, Chief Marketing Officer

Heidi Matheys was named chief marketing officer in June 2016. In this role, she has global responsibility for Valvoline brand equity, graphic design, consumer insights, category trends, customer support, training, digital capabilities and information technology. In addition, she oversees the development and execution of the Core North America (CNA) marketing plans and shares responsibility for the strategic direction of the CNA business with Tom Gerrald.

Previously, Matheys was senior vice president – do-it-yourself (DIY) channels, overseeing sales and marketing for the company’s consumer packaged goods business in North America. She joined Valvoline in 2012 as vice president, global brands.

Before coming to Valvoline, Matheys spent more than 15 years in brand management and advertising at Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Young & Rubicam and Graham Advertising.

A native of Wisconsin, Matheys holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and advertising from the University of Missouri, and a master’s degree in business administration in finance and strategy from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
