Heidi Matheys, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Heidi Matheys was named senior vice president and chief marketing officer in June 2016. In this role, she has global responsibility for Valvoline product management, brand equity, consumer insights, category trends, customer support, training, e-commerce and graphic design. In addition, she oversees the development and execution of marketing plans for Valvoline’s Core North America business segment and shares responsibility for the strategic direction of the Core North America business with Tom Gerrald.

Previously, she was senior vice president of do-it-yourself (DIY) channels, overseeing sales and marketing for the company’s consumer packaged goods business in North America. She joined Valvoline in 2012 as vice president of global brands.

Before coming to Valvoline, Matheys spent more than 15 years in brand management and advertising at Johnson & Johnson, Novartis AG, Young & Rubicam, and Graham Advertising.

She serves on the board of The Nest – Center for Women, Children and Families.

A native of Wisconsin, Matheys holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and advertising from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in business administration in finance and strategy from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
